Things I build on my own time, outside of work.
A home lab I built and ran while studying for CompTIA A+: self-hosted services, networking experiments, and a place to try things I wouldn't risk on a production system. It's no longer running, but building and troubleshooting it was a real part of how I prepared for the exam, and it helped me land my first technical role not long after.
A sleep cycle calculator and ambient sound machine. Tells you when to go to bed, then helps you get there.
A Battleship clone I built from scratch: placement, firing, hit detection, and an AI opponent that uses Monte Carlo simulation to decide where to shoot. Play against the AI or locally with a friend, passing the device back and forth.
An Android app that talks directly to my own Tile trackers over Bluetooth, with no cloud involved once it's set up. The goal is two things: ring a Tile from my phone, and press a Tile's button to make my phone ring. Ringing works today at close range. Button press and range are still in progress.
What replaced it: a NUC mini PC running Pi-hole and Jellyfin.
